4 c. sugar
4 c. vinegar
1/4 to 1/2 c. salt
1 1/3 tsp. tumeric
1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
3 onions, sliced thin
cucumbers, sliced thin
Mix the sugar, vinegar, salt, tumeric, celery seed and mustard seed together. (DO NOT HEAT; THIS SYRUP
IS COLD.) Wash and sterilize three 3-lb. peanut butter jars. Slice 1 onion into each. Wash and slice enough
cucumbers to fill the jars. Stir the syrup well and pour over the cucumber and onion. Screw on the lids.
Refrigerate at least 5 days before serving. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
