1 (3 lb.) chuck roast, any cut
2 T. vegetable oil
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 c. Coca-Cola (or other cola)
1 c. finely chopped onion
1 (1.5 oz.) pkg. spaghetti sauce mix
3/4 c. finely chopped celery
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Brown the roast in the oil for 10 minutes on each side. Drain any excess fat. Break up the tomatoes
in their juice; add the remaining ingredients, stirring until the spaghetti sauce mix is dissolved. Pour over the roast.
Cover; simmer 2 1/2 hours or until the roast is tender. Thicken the gravy (using your favorite thickener) and serve
over the sliced meat. Makes 6 to 8 servings (about 3 cups of sauce).
